TRANSPORTS IS THE LATEST THEME OF PORDATA PORTUGAL

Pordata Portugal now has 18 themes and over 1,300 statistical tables, always based on official data.

All of us, as citizens, depend daily on transport, either directly or indirectly. Thus, this new theme represents a further contribution to better know Portugal and the society in which we live, this time to understand how the transport has evolved in Portugal.

This theme has about 70 tables, many of which with series that start in 1960/70 and continue to the present.

The information has as sources Statistics Portugal (INE) and the National Road Safety Authority.

The statistical tables organized into five major areas:

-Air Transport – includes data on airports and aircraft, personnel employed in airlines and airport enterprises, flights and domestic and international transport of passengers and cargo, lines in operation and air fleet;

-Rail Transport - includes data on the extension of the railwaylines, vehicles, domestic and international transportation of people and goods, personnel employed, investments made andalso on accidents and victims;

-Maritime Transport - includes data on commercialvessels, national and international transport of persons and goods;
