Other Highlights

"AGRICULTURE AND FISHERIES" IS THE MOST RECENT THEME IN PORDATA MUNICIPALITIES

With the entry of "Agriculture and Fisheries" Pordata now has 15 themes and more than 750 statistical tables.

All of us, as citizens, depend on what is produced and fished, either directly or indirectly. Thus, the entry of the new theme "Agriculture and Fisheries" represents another contribution to better know Portugal and the society in which we live.

This theme has about 26 tables, with statistical series beginning between the eighties and the nineties, whenever possible, and they continue until the present time.

The statistical tables are organized into four major areas:

Vegetable Production - includes data on the surface area, production and productivity of the main agricultural crops, area of the main fruit and olive trees, oil mills and olive oil produced;

Economic Accounts for Agriculture - includes data on gross value added, gross fixed capital formation, capital transfers, net entrepreneurial income and agricultural production;

Salaries - includes data on the remuneration and average monthly wages of employees in Agriculture and Fisheries by gender and qualification level, gender remuneration gap by qualification level;

Fisheries - includes data on number of vessels and fishermen, tonnage and revenue from fish auction sales by major species.

The sources of the information provided are Statistics Portugal (INE) and the Directorate-General for Natural Resources, Safety and Maritime Services (DGRM).

 We would like to remind you that, in Pordata, all tables are accompanied by the respective metadata, including the concepts, formulas for calculating the indicators, and the descriptions relevant to the understanding of the statistical data.
