JUSTICE ENTERS THE DATABASE OF PORDATA EUROPE
Pordata Europe now has 13 themes and more than 738 statistical tables presented in chronological series and always based on official data.
Justice is one of the fundamental pillars of democratic societies. Accordingly, the entry of this new theme is an added contribution to better know Portugal and the society in which we live, based on data from all the countries of the European Union.
Pordata Europe now has a new theme dedicated to Justice!
Eurostat is the source for the data on the 28 European Union countries. About 40 statistical tables now integrate Pordata Europe, organized into four major areas:
-Crimes: includes data on typology of crimes, number of victims, defendants, and persons acquitted and convicted;
-Proceedings: includes data on criminal and civil and/or commercial cases, the procedural balance and congestion charges, effectiveness and resolution of the Courts of First Instance;
-Human Resources: includes data on the number of magistrates and police personnel;
-Prisons: includes data on criminal establishments, number of persons employed in prisons and number of prisoners;
The data have annual periodicity and, for the most part, present series with at least 7 years that continue to the present.
We should emphasize that, in Pordata, all tables are accompanied by the corresponding metadata, which includes the concepts, the formulas for calculating indicators and the descriptions relevant to understanding the statistical data presented.
