Pordata.pt wins WSA award

PORDATA has been distinguished as one of the world's five best projects in the e-Science & Technology category at the 2011 World Summit Awards.
The World Summit Awards (WSA) are held every two years, within the framework of the United Nations, to select and distinguish innovative internet applications that promote the dissemination of knowledge. This year's edition saw 160 countries involved.
The aim of the awards is to support institutions that develop creative digital applications that, because of their quality and content, help to build real educational, scientific and cultural heritage in electronic format. The ultimate goal of the WSA is for the new information society to perform a useful role for all humanity, while helping to contribute to international recognition for winning projects.
With this award, PORDATA joins the ranks of the WSA, which has distinguished projects from countries such as Finland, Canada, Germany, China and India.
